The equipment utilizes the "pulsed" laminar flow vacuum drying principle, which is a highly efficient low-temperature drying method. It can use steam, hot water, or electricity as heat sources and can also be equipped with functions such as saturated flowing steam sterilization, ozone disinfection, online cleaning, or immersion cleaning. Types include vacuum dryers (with condenser), vacuum dryers (without condenser), and continuous vacuum dryers.
The main characteristics of vacuum drying are as follows :
(1) Vacuum drying is suitable for heat-sensitive materials, materials easily oxidized at high temperatures, or materials where the discharged gases are valuable, toxic, harmful, or flammable .
(2) The vacuum degree and heating temperature range used during drying are relatively wide, offering good versatility .
(3) The drying temperature is low, preventing overheating. Moisture evaporates easily, resulting in short drying times .
(4) It reduces the contact between the material and air, avoiding contamination or oxidative deterioration .
(5) The dried product can form a porous, spongy structure that is loose and crisp, making it easy to pulverize. It also exhibits good solubility, rehydration capacity, color, and taste .
(6) Volatile liquids can be recovered and reused. However, the production capacity is small, requiring batch operation, yet the drying speed is fast .
(7) The equipment investment and power consumption are higher than those of atmospheric hot-air drying .
